MY SYNOPSIS

Evie’s son is getting married. She’ll have to deal with the empty nest earlier than she thought and completely alone since her husband died many years ago. This new reality is hard for her but she’s dedided to assume it in peace. Then Jack shows up… and he’s ready to shake her world forever.

MY REVIEW

It is a sweet story, very easy to read. I was about to finish before I noticed.

However, I can’t say I was involved with it. I didn’t connect with characters that easily. Besides, there are so many of them! I had a hard time learning who was who since I hadn’t read the first book.

Also, small details in the book sometimes took longer than they should. Meetings, for example. I felt like skipping paragraphs at moments.

There are some great lessons and quotes throughout the book, though. That was good.

I liked Jack more than Evie. I did not agree with certain decisions she made.

Now, the last 3 chapters or so were a different thing. Maybe because they were all focused on the most important stuff. At that part I could connect. I was interested in what would happen. It was disappointing at the end because it was all solved in such a simple way… but I could enjoy it more.

I hope this series keeps getting better.
