MY SYNOPSIS

Evelyn’s world is falling apart. Her husband for 10 years, a senator, has been arrested for embezzlement and she has no idea what to think or what to do now. Trevor, a friend he hasn’t seen in a long time, has come to her rescue but, can she really trust him?

MY REVIEW

First of all, the cover of this book is beautiful! It begs to be read.

The setting is lovely. It has this air of small town where everyone knows each other. I liked it. It’s easy to read and it provides you a good time.

The plot is really interesting. However, there were complicated issues that didn’t receive the development they deserved. I think I was expecting more out of them. Greater implications maybe.

Also, the story leads the reader to particular situations where the characters need to argue to solve things, take a course of action or something; so, you wait for those moments to come -which is good because you’re involved- and when they finally do, you don’t feel them that much because they happen kind of fast.

Maybe if the story had been less complex and with less important characters, it would probably have been easier to go deeper and engage more.

As I was approaching the end, it all got more interesting. Everything was focused on solving one thing, so descriptions and details were headed to that direction. Nevertheless, I did not like it how the issue got worked out at the very end. It looked a bit inconsistent to how things were developing.

Overall, it is a nice book and the plot is kind of unique. You could give it a try.
