MY SYNOPSIS
It’s the story of 18-year-old Maddy who is allergic to everything in the outside world so she can never [ever] leave her house, which is a big bubble to protect her.
A new family moves in next door and with them a new boy, Olly, who will make Maddy want more and more than what she currently have.
MY REVIEW
I don’t even know where I should begin.
Whatever I was expecting when I started reading, this book exceeded it.
I was so impressed that I couldn’t believe this is Nicola Yoon’s first book.
The writing is so good and smart and funny. “In that order”.
Right in the middle I had my suspicions about the end, but it was great anyway.
I’m not into books written in first person, but it didn’t bother me this time for some reason. I had such an amazing time as a reader.
Illustrations are awesome! I absolutely loved them!
Maddy’s Dictionary, Neighborhood Watch/Schedule, IM conversations, and Spoiler Reviews were incredible!
It helped that I really like books where the main character likes reading.
Characters are well-developed. I felt connected to their emotions and what they were going through.
Now, I think I read this so fast that I know there are certain statements that I should have let sink in a bit more but I wanted so much to see what happened next that I didn’t linger enough.
The last chapter was amazing and at the end I felt I just said good-bye to a very nice friend.
Loved this book!

Nicola Yoon grew up in Jamaica (the island) and Brooklyn (part of Long Island). She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA with her husband and daughter, both of whom she loves beyond all reason. Everything, Everything is her first novel.
I have been seeing this book around and I have been wondering if it is worthwhile me reading, but it looks like it will be! I can’t wait to try it out for myself. It was good to read your thoughts on the book! 🙂
